Jenner's Starbucks Banana Bread

My go-to Starbucks order is a peppermint hot chocolate and a slice of banana bread. I LOVE their banana bread. So when I found this recipe, I had to give it a try.


This gem of a recipe is originally from the website Butter Your Biscuit. What is listed below is how I've tweaked it a little for my kitchen. This turns out for me every time I make it. And it fills one bread pan perfectly full! I was skeptical about the cinnamon and vanilla but they don't stand out - just enhance. I love mine with walnuts in the batter and pecans on top but it's delicious without nuts too.


Let's Get Started!

Preheat oven to 325 degrees


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 egg

  • 1 1/8 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1/4 tsp vinegar (white or apple cider work best)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 3 extra ripe bananas

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees, spray an 8x5 loaf pan with nonstick spray and line it with parchment paper if desired.

  2. In a medium bowl add flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon and whisk just until combined.

  3. In another medium bowl add egg, sugar, and oil and whisk until combined.

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well, the mixture will be thick and dry.

  5. In a bowl or mug, combine milk and vinegar. Let sit for a minute (may thicken some)

  6. Add in the milk mixture, vanilla, and mashed bananas to the large bowl mixture and stir until combined.

  7. Stir in 1/4 c. of the chopped walnuts

  8. Pour into a loaf pan, and sprinkle remaining 1/4 c. walnuts and 1/4 c pecans over the top.

  9. Bake on the center oven rack for 60-75 minutes or until the knife comes out clean.
