These are my go-to chocolate chip cookies. I feel a bit like Phoebe from Friends sharing this recipe. I started with the Nestle tollhouse recipe, made a couple of adjustments, and there you have it.

I personally think the biggest difference-maker here is having good quality vanilla. If you go cheap here, the cookies will be fine, but nothing special. Call me crazy. Everyone has their things, right?
Let's Get Started!
Ingredients
2 c. (4 cubes) salted butter, room temp
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla (my favorite is this brand)
4 2/3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. chocolate chips
Blend together butter and sugars until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat for a long time, until it starts to turn white and get fluffy.
Add 2 c. flour and salt and soda. Mix together.
Add remaining flour. Mix until blended.
Add chocolate chips.
Roll dough in saran wrap to create logs (like store bought cookie dough). Chill in fridge for atleast 24 hours - ideal is 48 hours. If you skip this step your cookies will bake up fluffier, not my favorite.
After chilling, cut into 3/4 inch discs and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 9-11 minutes, until edges are golden brown and tops have little hints of golden brown.
Let cool on pan for 5 mins before removing to cooling rack.
