Kristin's Oatmeal Cookies



If I'm being really honest we make these cookies for the dough. The cookies are pretty scrumptious too, but the dough is where it's at. Be sure to pay attention to the vanilla on this one. Mexican vanilla is the only way to go (in my opinion). I linked to my favorite brand below (granted the gal I buy it from gets it directly from Mexico. Not sure if the amazon stuff if the real thing. So buy at your own risk) ;)


Let's Get Started


Ingredients:


Blend together:

1c. brown sugar

3/4 c. white sugar

2 sticks butter, softened to room temp.


Then add, and blend:

2 eggs


Next add:

3 c. INSTANT oats

1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 c. wheat germ (found in the cereal aisle)

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2. tsp. salt


Once dough is mixed, add:

1 bag mini chocolate chips


Place 1 inch balls about 2 inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10-12 mins.


Or, just grab a spoon and eat the dough. That works too.
